Lila, The Divine Play of Parenting
Lila - Divine play - time for families to play, eat, relax, and enjoy the outdoors together. We will have adult yoga and mindful parenting classes, as well as kids yoga, nature, and art classes at the same time. The first night we enjoy a campfire and community sing-a-long. The second night we enjoy integrated playful yoga and story-telling time. Families are grouped into “tribes” at the beginning of the workshop to support each parent in having some free time: to meditate; hike; enjoy the springs, or a massage. The retreat is organized in a cooperative structure that involves all participants, but allows for unique opportunities for solace, as well;
Lila Retreat is created by 4 teachers with expertise in Yoga, mindful parenting/emotional intelligence, cooperative play, and nature education and arts. This joyful retreat is an opportunity for families to delight in, and feel supported in, living together in a healthy, playful way.
Karen Murphy, a Parenting by Connection Instructor, will facilitate a parent workshop aimed to support, inspire and offer practical tools and practices to decrease stress and conflict and increase peace and joy in your family. Designed specifically for parents on the spiritually awakened path.
Stephanie Adams, mother of three kids ages 4-21, and Yoga teacher and trainer for 17 years, will lead us into inquiry into our deeper selves to enable us to become more connected to what is natural for us and who we really truly, authentically are. Connecting to ourselves is essential to connecting to our children.
Rayna Morton and Stephenie Stevenson Goin will be splitting the kid sessions into older and younger age circles. They plan to lead Lila kids in yoga based games, and outdoor adventures discoveries and adventures and crafts. This retreat works best for children ages 4 and over, although we sometimes have social 3 year olds successfully join the play groups/retreat. We trust your judgment. We have two play groups - one for the younger children and one for the older children.
